Her Final Words by Brianna Labuskes5/24/2023 ![]() ![]() This was a fast, easy read, that kept me guessing. “The governing body for a group that hates government.” – Brianna Labuskes, Her Final Words Brooke’s Thoughts ![]() ![]() The only “flaw” in the story for me is how Lucy seems to vilify Eliza at the end and view her as a monster like Rachel but was so quick to let Molly off the hook for killing Rachel. To be honest, the only thing I even kind of got right was thinking Eliza may have killed Noah to shed light on the other murders but I wasn’t even confident on this idea and voted for Hicks in the last vote. Her Final Words didn’t give me either of those feelings! I didn’t expect Rachel to be the serial killer, Josiah to kill himself, Darcy’s involvement, or Molly shooting Rachel. I loved this book and rated it 5 stars! I don’t read many mysteries but, when I do, I usually feel like they’re either too predictable or unrealistic. ![]()

Spiderwork by L.K. Rigel5/24/2023 ![]() There are characters who sacrifice power for love, and those who risk everything for power. Spiderwork is potentially a complex story, with good characterizations, including a capricious god who has no compunction against making an example (killing) her loyal followers for their very human foibles. Rigel has a lot of plates spinning in the air. In a twist of reader irony, Spiderwork's being more than a simple love story, is what frustrates me the most about this novella (perhaps the series?) even though I loved it. There are bigger themes at work here – the breakdown of humanity and its rebuilding, with tyrants, political intrigue, city-states, manipulations, and the resurgence of old gods and ancient religion. ![]() The author of Spiderwork (In Flagrante Apocalypto #2) calls her series a romance, but I think that's doing it an injustice. ![]()

Dragonspell by donita k paul5/23/2023 ![]() ![]() Please do yourself a favor and pick up this book. I absolutely adore his character development. Bardon's really secretive nature is really attractive. I ship me and Bardon *cough* I mean Kale and Bardon. Paul can write some really awesome villains.Ī REALLY HANDSOME KNIGHT WITH BLUE EYES AND BLACK HAIR AND ABS AND MUSCLES AND SECRETS WITH A SLIGHTLY STUCK UP YET LOVEABLE ATTITUDE. Seriously, these evil wizards are bad to the core. I would classify these awesomely good wizards under the Lord of the Rings wizard category. He is adorable! And, he turns into a tree if he stays still for too long, so how is that not cool? Now, I know when wizards get brought up, the automatic thought is, "Harry Potter." I assure you, these wizards are nothing like the Harry Potter wizards. Anyway, when I say wizards, I mean specifically Wizard Fenworth who is my dream grandpa. Gandalf in this gif is under the spell of TobyMac. ![]() They're adorable! I want some.Īll I can say is, I think Mr. ![]() I mean, different colors mean different abilities! Purple = singing. There are little dragons called minor dragons which remind me of the Terrible Terrors from How to Train Your Dragon. Why? Let me indulge you in the greatness of this book. This is by far my favorite book of the series. ![]()

Face Offs & Cheap Shots by Eden Finley5/23/2023 ![]() ![]() We wrap up the session and send the camp kids for lunch before they have weight training this afternoon. When it comes to competing, I’m all in, and nothing will get between me and the W. ![]() Tormenting Jacobs at the same time will just be a bonus.Įven if I’m getting confusing feelings toward him, I won’t let it hold me back. I’m going to win these stupid challenges easily and spend my senior year as hockey king on this campus. I like pushing his buttons, but the guy needs to loosen up. I have no idea why Christopher Jacobs hates me, and I can’t say I care. Challenges that are throwing me and Beck together. Challenges that have nothing to do with hockey. The captain spot is going to a team vote, and the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth. Yet, the coaches see something in him I obviously can’t, and they refuse to choose between us. TJ Beckett.īeck is irresponsible and immature, and I’ve hated him since the moment we met freshman year. ![]() There’s only one thing standing in my way. For the last three years, I’ve lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain. ![]() |
